Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF)
It is a global network of French-speaking higher-education and research institutions. Founded in Montreal, Canada in 1961 as the Association des Universités Partiellement ou Entièrement de Langue Française (AUPELF), the AUF is a multilateral institution supporting co-operation and solidarity among French-speaking universities and institutions. It operates in the French-speaking countries of Africa, the Arab world, Southeast Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, and the Caribbean.
Association of Portuguese Universities (AULP)
It promotes cooperation between Portuguese universities and institutions.
Association of African Universities (AAU)
It is the apex organization and forum for consultation, exchange of information and co-operation among institutions of higher education in Africa.
Association of Arab Universities (AARU)
Founded in 1964 is an Arab organization with an independent legal entity. AARU’s objectives are mainly to enhance cooperation amongst Arab universities and to coordinate their efforts with a view to raising the quality of university and higher education

Academic Cooperation Association (ACA)
It is a dynamic think tank in the area of international cooperation in higher education. Its goal is to promote innovation and internationalisation of European higher education while maintaining a global outreach.
European Centre for Strategic Management of Universities (ESMU)
It is a Brussels-based international, non-profit association with significant expertise in promoting the strategic management of universities in Europe and worldwide. ESMU assists universities with their strategic profiling through European-wide networks/platforms, benchmarking exercises, leadership development programmes, project work and specific advice.
European Association of Institutions in Higher Education (EURASHE)
It was founded in Patras (Greece) in 1990 as an international association that promotes and emphasises professional higher education (PHE). The mission of EURASHE is to promote the interests of professional higher education in the member countries of the European Union and in other European countries, and in institutions which are either public or recognised and/or financed by the public authorities of a European Union member country or another European country.
European Centre for Higher Education (CEPES)
It was established in September 1972 with a view to promoting co-operation in higher education among Member States of the Europe Region (the countries of Europe, North America, and Israel).
International Federation of Catholic Universities (IFCU)
Its purpose is to contribute to the development of Catholic higher education and its Catholic character, based on the criteria of quality, continuity and autonomy.
Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI)
It was founded in 1949 as an international agency, the Office of Latin American Education, as a result of the first Latin American Education Congress in Madrid. OEI members include Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Chile, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Equatorial Guinea, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela. Its purpose is to promote intergovernmental cooperation among its member nations which will aid the planning and development of regional projects in education, science, technology and the arts.
Ibero-American University Association for Postgraduate Studies (AUIP)
It is a non-governmental body concerned with furthering postgraduate and doctoral studies in Ibero-America and financed by its member institutions. It comprises more than 120 prestigious institutions of higher education in Portugal, Spain and LAC and dispenses in common several thousand postgraduate programmes in almost all fields of knowledge. It provides information and communication services on available postgraduate opportunities, cooperates in international and external assessment processes and the recognition of the curricula offered, facilitates mobility, encourages academic and research work and organizes roving courses on subjects of interest to teachers and directors of postgraduate and doctoral studies.
International Association of Universities (IAU)
IAU, founded in 1950, is the UNESCO-based worldwide association of higher education institutions. It brings together institutions and organisations from some 120 countries for reflection and action on common concerns and collaborates with various international, regional and national bodies active in higher education. Its services are available on the priority basis to Members but also to organisations, institutions and authorities concerned with higher education, as well as to individual policy and decision-makers, specialists, administrators, teachers, researchers and students.
European Association for International Education (EAIE)
We are a non-profit, member-led organisation serving individuals actively involved in the internationalisation of their institutions through a combination of training, conferences and knowledge acquisition and sharing. We equip academic and non-academic professionals with best practices and workable solutions to internationalisation challenges and provide a platform for strategic exchange. We partner with key stakeholder organisations and institutions to promote our membership interests, and advance international higher education in Europe and the rest of the world.
Educational Testing Service (ETS)
At nonprofit ETS, they advance quality and equity in education for people worldwide by creating assessments based on rigorous research. ETS develops, administers and scores more than 50 million tests annually — including the TOEFL and TOEIC tests, the GRE General and Subject Tests and The Praxis Series assessments — in more than 180 countries, at more than 9,000 locations worldwide.
Association of International Educators (NAFSA)
It is a non-profit professional organization for professionals in all areas of international education including education abroad advising and administration, international student advising, campus internationalization, admissions, outreach, overseas advising, and English as a Second Language (ESL) administration. As of 2010, it served approximately 10,000 educators worldwide, representing nearly 3,000 higher education institutions.
Commonwealth Higher Education Management Service (CHEMS)
It was established in November 1993 with two core functions: providing consultancy services to universities and governments on all aspects of university management and undertaking comparative studies and research on good management practice.
International Federation of University Women (IFUW)
IFUW, founded in 1919, is a non-profit, non-governmental organization comprising graduate women working locally, nationally and internationally to advocate the improvement of the status of women and girls at the international level, by promoting lifelong education and enabling graduate women to use their expertise to effect change. Nowadays, they also contributes to the defense of human rights, equality and justice.
Consortium Linking Universities of Science and Technology for Education and Research (CLUSTER)
CLUSTER is a collection of twelve European universities which focus on science and engineering. There are joint programs and student exchanges held between the universities.
Compostela Group of Universities (CGU)
In 1993, the Compostela Holy Year, the University of Santiago de Compostela initiated contacts with other institutions of higher education located on the secular Ways to Santiago. The main aim was to establish a university network that would facilitate co-operation between universities to preserve the historical and cultural heritage that had emerged along these pilgrim routes to Compostela which have crossed Europe since the IX century.
